John Morgan is the North American Operations Director for BLUESHAPE Energy Inside. BLUESHAPE manufactures and distributes portable power for broadcast and film production industries and also for the construction and medical industries. He has been with BLUESHAPE since 2010, coming from SE-US Reps, an independent manufacturers rep company which he founded. John was with Industrial Video for seven years and became a regional manager. He entered the production industry when hired by a non-profit television station, where he became the production manager before joining IVC. His responsibilities included studio lighting and non-linear editing. John received his law degree from Capital University in Columbus OH, where he served with the Department of Public Safety for fifteen years. He participated in drafting revisions to the International Building Code through the National Fire Academy. John became focused on the environment after moving to Florida in 2009 and seeing the impact of plastics and other debris to the ocean and aquatic life. In 2022, the BLUESHAPE factory began installing solar panels on the roof of the factory. By January 2023, the array produced four times the energy needed to operate the facility. John is a member of the environmental guidance committee for BLUESHAPE, along with representatives from every aspect of the operation. John has created a white paper regarding the Dangers of Using Gasoline Generators in Production. On behalf of BLUESHAPE, he also authors a weekly salute of a company which is making a positive difference for the environment.
